Throughout 2024, Aveiro is a stage for reflection on a set of themes that mark the local and global agenda, based on its quarterly themes. For each Conference, prominent figures are invited to reflect on the relationship between culture and identity, democracy, sustainability and technology. In this second stage and in the year that celebrates 50 years of the revolution of April 25, 1974, which returned Freedom of Expression and Democracy to Portugal, the Aveiro 2024 Conference focuses on the themes and the correlation between culture and democracy.
Political and cultural decision-makers, artists and thinkers reflect on the development of Culture in the Portuguese democratic context, and the importance of the political context favorable to cultural, artistic and expressive freedom for the country's development.
